As for me ― I rose late. Very heavy scirocco & rain. Staid at home ― very unwell.

After 2 went to Mrs. Storey’s, & saw one Wylde ― which [εἶχε] Spanish [sketches], & he came home with me. Then I drove with the Sandbachs ― in the Borghese: ― & on to Pincian ―, rather a bore. ― & later I called at the Marshalls ― & saw Julia, A. de V. & Charmside, with whom I walked partly home.

Dined alone ― & wrote to C.M.C. ―
