Fine. \u2015 Letters from Mrs. G. Clive<\/a> & B.H.H.<\/a> \u2015 Went at 10 to W.H. Hunt<\/a>. His picture is more wonderful than ever. \u2015 But then sane, [as] whole character of his work,\u00a0 & the place, & himself \u2015 made me sad, \u2015 tho\u2019, thank God, not envious, \u2015 & I came away more dead than alive. Walked to the Bethells<\/a>\u2019 \u2015 out \u2015 Crake<\/a>\u2019s, out also. Then home \u2015 & took C. pencil to Tessins<\/a>, \u2015 & then to Mulock<\/a> \u2015 out also. To Foord<\/a>\u2019s. \u2015 But the system of chance work or deadly worry seems to me terrible for myself. \u2015 On to Bickers<\/a>, \u2015 Bp. Winchester<\/a>, & Lady Waldegrave<\/a>\u2019s \u2015 where I lunched. \u2015 Mr. H.<\/a> much more agreeable than []\u2015 she the same as ever \u2015. Calls on S. Westley<\/a> \u2015 & across park to Victoria Str. & Mr. F. North<\/a> \u2015 where was Collingwood Smith<\/a>. \u2015 Then to Lady Young<\/a>\u2019s \u2015 out \u2015 Lady Grey<\/a>, \u2015 Baring<\/a>, \u2015 Farquhar<\/a> \u2015 (Clive<\/a>,) Lord Wenlock<\/a> \u2015 all ditto. \u2015 Thence, across Park \u2015 Home. Wrote note, & out to Gush<\/a>, Beadon<\/a>, Wynnes<\/a>, \u2015 & to Newman St. to see some Studios. No. 23 I think of taking. In 74 was Stevens<\/a> \u2015 of Rome. Thence to Wyatt<\/a>\u2019s \u2015 & after that home to dress. At 7\u00bd went to Brunwich Hotel \u2015 where were Col. Clowes<\/a>, Miss C.<\/a>, Mr. Mrs. & Miss Arkwright<\/a>, & latterly S.W.C.<\/a> \u2015 It is difficult to me to keep up convers[e] with such \u2015 yet am I not wrong in finding it difficult?<\/p>\n

Coming out \u2015\u2015 pouring rain! \u2015 So I got a cab home. \u2015 A fatiguing day & wholly unsatisfactory. \u2015<\/p>\n
