Petraja \u2015 4<\/p>\n<p>There was fog early \u2015 (rose at 6.30.) but it cleared, &amp; the day was the loveliest conceivable. I wish I had my journal here of 1859, there is such an absurd sameness just now! The fine calm weather, the distasteful hard work all day \u2015 \u2026 the disinclination to go out \u2015 [even] the receipt of a letter from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nonsenselit.org\/diaries\/people\/edwards-samuel-price\/\">Mr. Edwards<\/a>! \u2015 [Colours] of Athos come back \u2015 &amp; Patmos, &amp; Eub\u0153a, \u2015 but there seems no use in memory.<\/p>\n<p>Wrote to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nonsenselit.org\/diaries\/people\/morier-david-richard\/\">Mr. Morier<\/a>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nonsenselit.org\/diaries\/people\/lacaita-sir-john\/\"> Lacaita<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nonsenselit.org\/diaries\/people\/morier-b\/\"> B.D. Morier<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nonsenselit.org\/diaries\/people\/bergmann-sophy\/\"> Mrs. Bergmann<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dined at 4 \u2015 sole &amp; cold fowl. \u2015<\/p>\n<p>Worked again till dusk: really I don\u2019t know if well or ill. Then took my solitary walk, farther than usual, but beyond the Library are annoyances of crowds &amp; bore. \u2015<\/p>\n<p>O dear! what a life!<\/p>\n<p>Bed at 9. \u2015 No Greek: no penning out.
