Letter from Spillman<\/a>: tin received. There is now but one year\u2019s rint (sic<\/em>) to pay. \u2015 Wrote to Ann<\/a>, C.F.<\/a>, C.M.C.<\/a> & others. Long reading of Times.<\/p>\n

Did a little to the 2 Nunehams \u2015 but \u201cmuddling\u201d \u2015 & arranging drawings occupied most of my time.<\/p>\n

Later, retraced & reoutlined the big Masada.<\/p>\n

About 3, Majr. & Miss Reynolds<\/a> Yates<\/a> came \u2015 but I was obliged to dismiss them \u2015 as going to a Railway. She is gossipy & a bore: he ditto. \u2015\u2015 At 4.30 cab to Waterloo \u2015 & rail to Epsom \u2015 5.30 \u2015 arrive 6.10. Mrs. H.<\/a>\u2019s omnibus to Ashtead. Dressing time.<\/p>\n

Mr. W. Legge<\/a> \u2015 H.t Paget<\/a>, 2 Bagots<\/a> & one Mrs. B., wh. was a Chester. \u2015 Lady Augusta Seymour<\/a> \u2015 a \u201cHarvey\u201d (men, women, & Harveys) & her daughter \u2015 & General A. Upton<\/a>. Mrs. G.H. \u2015 dear good old lady \u2015 older: otherwise the same grand old lady. \u2015<\/p>\n

Much of the narrow old [Forgion]1<\/a><\/sup> riles me now \u2015 (not in her<\/em> \u2015 she was always a Xtian, ) but it is more foolish to speak. \u2015\u2015<\/p>\n

Lady A. & Miss P. played. I sang, but [these well] alla AT \u2015 incomprehensible to them, except perhaps Mrs. G.H. \u2015 To bed at 11. \u2015\u2015\u2015 Ah! Very calm moonlight \u2015but dim & darkling! Yet the repose I now so seldom enjoy = the absolute quiet<\/em> of these stately moveless trees! \u2015\u2015\u2015\u2015<\/p>\n
