Cover for Alfred Z. Baker's The Torn Book

From a description in Aleph-Bet catalogue no. 97:

THE TORN BOOK by B. Baker. NY: D. Appleton 1913. Small 4to (7 1/4 x 8 7/8”), cloth, pictorial paste-on, light shelf wear, near Fine.

Bound exactly like the Hole and Rocket Books (except in red), the novelty in this venture is that part of every page is torn so that a portion of the illustration on the page following can be seen but it also very cleverly fits into both the illustration before it and the illustration after it. Even though this is an obvious attempt by Appleton to try to cash in on Newell’s popularity imitating him this is a very clever and well done book. Illustrated in color by the author.

I have a copy of this and will try to scan it.
