Still very very poorly at times ―― oppression of chest ― violent ― but not painful cough, & cold in the head. ― ―

Drew pretty hard at the Mount Hor view, (interrupted by notes endless. ―) & going thro’ accounts with Giorgis ― seeing the Νέος Διδασκαλος1 ― &c. &c. till at 12 Mrs. McBeanCol. & Mrs. Gordon ― & Dr. O Brien came, & I “went” all thro’ the views with them: pleasant enough, & nice good people. ― Worked a bit, & then came Lady Stratford, & Miss M. C. ― Lord & Lady Spenser, & Cowper: ― shewing them took a good time, but was really very delightful. ― At 4 they went, & I walked out ― but oppressed sadly with cough & cold ― to S. Gio. Laterano. ― Returning, went to Rinaldini’s ― & saw Mr. Hallam’s death in the papers.2 F.L. & A.T. must have a weight to bear. Came home to dine, & afterwards J. Uwins came, & looked over drawings. I to write. ―
