At 2.30 ― to Talbot: always seems a nice good fellow, talk of Corfu with him. Returning, met H.J. Bruce, who walked with me to Beadons, & about. Sir W.N. is dying. Home. ― Wrote to F.L. & H. Hunt. At 5 to 9. Bolton St. Clowes there. ― We went to sundry shops & dined at the Blue Ports. Afterwards, I sate with him till 10. ― Letters from W. Nevill ― most kind; enclosing £20. And from Lord Stanley. Cramer offers 20£ for the 5 songs. ― Read F.L. on Corfu ― in the Saturday ―: it is all clean, but obscure. ― Cold bad.
