Wet early. ― Much fun & laughter at breakfast. At 10 left the Cottage. It is worth much to see Windham & his house. ― Came to Liverpool with the Caterer ― the old jog trot, & red walled roads. Left luggage at stables ― & going to Custom House in a cab ― found Mr. Edwards was not there, ― but that the Teneriffe had arrived. Went to Agents ― & learned what I could. So ― I must give up going to Ireland: ―& resolve to stay a bit at Adelphi till the things are out.― Lunch. ― Went to Exhibition, which conveyed me no particular good. F.M. Brown is the best man there doubtless. Back ― & unwell ― X(3). ― Slept. Walked about to St. George’s Hall, which is like Baalbec.1 ― Dined at 7 ―
