Rain, but little wind. Slept till 3 or 4, when the people overhead came in from the ball. ―  Rose at 8½ ― wet, ― & later snow. Colder than ever.

“Arranged sketches” ― & worked again at Lord Clermont’s Athos. At 3 Sir J. & Lady Reid came ― a real pleasure to show her (& him too) those pictures & Athos sketches. Did not go out. Abominably cold. ― Dined alone at 6½ ― read Robinson. Campbell sent Ducks & woodcox.
